Atlanta has both a storied history and a progressive streak that continues to shape its future. With the world’s busiest airport and three interstates running through the centre of the city, it’s easy to get to a place where Southern hospitality remains a way of life. Expect to be greeted by smiles and slow Southern salutations.
Atlanta is a city of charming neighbourhoods that are all easily walkable. Start at Centennial Olympic Park, the expansive downtown refuge built for the 1996 Summer Olympics. You can stroll to such attractions as the World of Coca-Cola, the Inside CNN Studio Tour in addition to the Georgia Aquarium which is one of the largest in the world.
If you’re looking for an enjoyable day trip, just outside of Atlanta is Stone Mountain Park, a wonder of nature. The mountain rises 251 meters above the surrounding area, and into it is carved a U.S Civil War bas-relief, the world’s largest. It’s also home to a theme park.
Ever-expanding and always reinventing itself, Atlanta is among the most influential and most welcoming cities in the South-Eastern USA.
